| 1.
Install piston holes to intake side. Make sure
ends of clips are pointed up or down.
2. Install cylinder. Be sure
to lubricate the walls - the cylinder should
slide all the way down to the block freely. DO
NOT FORCE DOWN! If the cylinder does not slide
all the way down, file the high spots out of the
block and reinstall the cylinder. Forcing the
cylinder down may push the skirts in, causing
the cylinder/piston to fail.
3. Once the cylinder and
piston have been installed, rotate the
crankshaft to make sure all the parts work
freely together. Then, install the head.
4. Install the intake
manifold. You must drill and tap the manifold if
you want the bike to use the oil injection
system, if equipped. The intake should exit off
to the right side of the moped for Tomos, to the
left on Puch's.
5. Install the exhaust system.
Make sure the circlip is seated in the groove at
the rear of the exhaust.
6. Install the choke lever on
handlebar and install the choke cable.
7. Install the carburator.
8. The side cover of the carb
may have to be cut to allow for the air filter.
(Tomos only) Leave all metal that the footboard
rubber mounts to in place. Cut out with a
jigsaw.
9. Use a high quality
synthetic two-cycle engine oil. Mix 4 oz. per
gallon during the break-in period. Mix 2 1/2 oz/
per gallon after the break-in period, or use the
oil injection system 50:1.
